90% of graphic card users don't have hdmi on it -_-

Aren't the dongles to DVI adapter quality not as reliable? Does anyone know?

HDMI to DVI cables carry the same signal as a regular DVI cable, the only thing missing from DVI is the audio signal.

Um, VGA can do HD 1080p and even better. I'm doing it right now. Looks fine.

all contrast ratios are overinflated. There's never been a display that has a measured 1000:1 contrast ratio. It's more like 150:1 at best. A 4K display system would be very high, but still not 1000:1. Besides, there's no standard for contrast ratings - it's whatever the manufacturer claims. It's a marketing tool. They might as well say it has MMX technology, too.

HDMI = DVI with an audio signal (and other random stuff)

The adapters are 3 bucks. Stop freaking out peeps.

The original in all its glory. The 20 minutes of driving through the desert with elevator music playing in the background physically pained me, but I feel I'm a stronger individual after enduring it.

I jumped on a 20" de-branded HP a few weeks ago:

If the quality expected would be similar between the 20" and the 23" then I have only this to say:

A++++++++++++ WOULD BUY AGAIN

Huh...too bad I just bought this

not 2 hours ago...
But then again...mine's new, and it's LED backlit (blacker blacks, less power consumption, less light-bleeding). And it's green! (I could care less...)

I got this same monitor two days a go for a birthday present. It cost $100 more than here....

So if I hooked up my Cable Box (with built-in DVR) to this monitor, would I be able to view television? I would use the HDMI ports in both the Cable Box and monitor.

In my mind, this works, which makes me want to buy this. Hopefully you can confirm or deny this before it sells out, and save me the embarrassment later.

Bought one of these last time they came around. Great monitor. It's a rebranded HP and a lot bigger than I expected.

If I'd known then what I know now, I would have bought two at the time. I just got my second one a moment ago though. =)

Seriously worth the low cost. One word of advice though: don't enable the Power Saver setting. At least in my case, it would go into a stand by mode and then refuse to wake and I couldn't turn it off without unplugging it.

Again though, this is a great monitor and worth a lot more than they're asking for it.

If you had purchased the deal of the day yesterday, you'd be able to watch tv on this with your PC.

Was the Vornado foot heater bad or something?

not exactly, it doesn't have a tuner, as in you can't get signal/ channels, you can however plug in a game console via hdmi or if you have a set top box (ie directv, verizon fios, comcast etc) with an hdmi out, you can plug that into this.

Here's the MetaReview page with specs and reviews for the HP set. (I assume that linking to the suspected branded version is kosher?)

Average review is 8.5 out of 10.

yes, you could use this as a tv through a cable box. Anything that transmits via HDMI or VGA(ps3, xbox 360, pc, blu ray) would work on this monitor.

My roommate has the 24" HP version of this and the picture is PHENOMENAL. Really bright and clean. Definitely recomend.

The built-in 2-watt speakers probably wouldnt be enough to hear from across the room, and I don't see how you would control the volume or power without getting up and pushing buttons like some sort of cave-(wo)man

I bought the 20" as well. I love it, but my one issue is that I didn't know that this one was coming. Curse my inability to see into the future.

If I had the extra funds I would get this.

I have no issues with my current 20" model, but if you are worried about the whole "refurb" dilemma, then go with the Square Trade warranty.

I recommend this to anyone who wants a worth while monitor.

JonnoN wrote:What, no DVI??

It has an HDMI input which is basically a DVI with audio. All you need is a DVI to HDMI cable or adapter and you can forgo the blue VGA port because then you will be all digital.

Is that Christopher Daniels coming off the top there? That definitely looks like an ROH arena... I'd be curious to know which show it was and who he was fighting.

23inch 1080p for 150 isnt bad, but i dont like the fact its refurb. There might be dead pixels and although a few isnt bad i still wouldnt trust it. Just go to newegg and get a new 21.5 for the same price or a new 23 for like $20 more.

A lot of times with closeouts (like what Woot carries), the seller is not allowed to sell the product under its original brand. Often, logos are even removed from the product to hide its brand.

bought the 26" a couple months ago.. solid monitor, 1 dead pixel all the way down in the corner but they are so common out of the box now that its almost expected, but other than that good buy

I get that I can use an adapter to connect my DVI video card to this. But that won't have audio, given that the video card only pushes a video signal. Is there a 3.5mm audio-in jack on this to drive the speakers?
