Hey Woot ! how about a heated toilet seat? No refurbs though.

plumpkin

my son has a size 16 foot...will this be large enough for his feet?

I know everything about Led Zeppelin and the band members so I can tell you what they would think about this.

Jimmy Page would like it because he has a huge foot fetish and could, no doubt, think about many ways to have groupies use the device.

Robert Plant would also like it because he has arthritis in his legs and feet.

John Paul Jones would not want one for himself but it's likely that he would buy one for Robert Plant (for his arthritis) and he would also buy one for Jimmy Page (for his foot fetish).

So now that I've given you a good overview of what the mighty Led Zeppelin members would think about this deal, you can feel free to bow to my superior knowledge about Led Zeppelin. I know more about Led Zeppelin than anyone else on this earth, I am the MIGHTY NECH!!!

Be sure to join me on the Led Zeppelin mailing list FBO! You don't have to kiss up to me too much but a little won't hurt to get you accepted as a cool member!!!

Later, The Mighty NECH.

What, not sold out yet? I'm shocked. I'm even more shocked that Vornado fans are obsolete. Instead, you need a new Dyson fan--oops, Air Multiplier at $300 plus.

Yea seriously, the Midwest is brutal so I should buy two at least- one for each foot!

idk what raynuads is but im glad my feet stay warm.....and i had no idea people would bring up energy consumption in this heated woot foot heater debate. this is one of the most interesting discussions on feet i have ever had the pleasure of being a part of......also if i had a wife im sure (after reading this discussion) that she would complain about her feet being cold. another night of monitoring the daily woot discussion has paid for itself by others sharing their life experiences....now back to the redwings game =p

I have diabetes. No socks can keep my feet warm. Not everyone is as fortunate as you, bub.

tgstanley wrote:I bought one of these last winter from one of those linen and beyond box stores for twice the price. It's nice if you like a foot rest under your desk. The fan is about as loud as my computer fan-not noticeable on the floor. The unit shuts off automatically in 4 hours or you can flip the switch. The fan and heat element are not too strong. It takes 15 minutes to create a small buffer of warmth and a draft easily overtakes its heat. The fan works with or without heat. I don't feel the fan unless I remove my shoes-similar to the airlow from a laptop. I work in a basement and if I use a lap blanket and take my shoes off, it is ok - otherwise I don't get enough warmth with this. The bottom of my laptop gets warmer than this, so don't expect great heat from this - but it does what it says it does.

The bottom of a laptop can get really hot, uncomfortably hot, if you are naive and do not cool it properly or maintain it. I would not want the heat from a hot laptop burning my feet. I don't think you want a product like this to be extremely hot, unless you constantly want to adjust the temperature. I guess I'll find out. Other reviews have been positive. In for one as a gift.

In for one, for exactly that reason.

hunterlj wrote:ok, just to clarify

1-this is probably NOT good for diabetics, especially those with neuropathy. I can only imagine seeing one in my clinic with nice little burn pattern from leaving their feet on it all day.

2-PAD - this will probably do very little to help pad symptoms. PAD is due to a hardening and blockage of the arteries, heat will do very little to open these up more. Go get on statins from your doctor

3-Raynauds - probably the only condition this will help. Though Raynauds vasospasm is brought on by cold, so it does little good to warm your feet up then go outside in the cold. Best bet, dont let your feet get cold in the beginning.

Now Im still in for 1 as a gift, just dont be suckered into buying one because of a condition you have or know someone who might have...

1- great point

2- a better treatment for PAD (Peripheral Arterial Disease) is excercise, stop smoking, and take an aspirin a day (if you can of course)

3- agreed. buy some thicker socks!

I just bought two to give away as gifts. In addition to these, I'll also be giving away face masks to be used in case of a Swine Flu outbreak in my area. I read an article on http://fluhealer.blogspot.com that there are currently outbreaks in Ukraine, Romania, Turkey, and China.

Do they check the prongs on any device you bring to the office??? or are you the frequent victim of lightning strikes?

You don't seem to understand. If a device has no ground prong it is because it doesn't need one. In this case it's mostly plastic, so no case grounding is needed (or possible). You only have to worry if there *is* a ground prong and it's been cut off or otherwise rendered useless.

driekatten wrote:Our Movie Genre woot. they're called slippers. and an extra pair of socks. geez people. this is one of the most ridiculous products i have seen. too bad vornado made it--i like their other products and i'm sure the thing works well, but COME ON!!!!! a foot heater? how many random contraptions do we all need? what's next? how bout an armpit massager? a left nostril aerator? AUGH!!! bring back the really good stuff, like really cool laptops at killer prices? even usb cables beat this carp!!!!! ok, thanks, i feel better.

Perhaps the most useful, in the woot-wage sense of a sort of specific-wootfulness, woot I ever wooted was a Panasonic nostril depillitator. I speak ex black box, newbs

Got 3. It can be used as a heater and also has the option for just a fan = cool the feet.

3- if your in the office and wear Nylons/heels it hard to wear socks + heals :>
Also the best way to keep warm is heat the hands or feet. So this will be handy in the office or at home. Socks only do so much, once u got the chill your only option sometimes is a hot shower.

Hey, I sit at the computer all day, and this looks like a fabulous footrest, with the blower and bumps as a bonus! Have you checked the price of just regular footrests in office stores to help you sit ergonomically correct? More expensive then this, some waaaaaay more expensive, and this looks more comfy. The bumps look great for getting at those accupressure spots, and yeah, my feet are cold when the rest of me isn't. Plus, if you feet are hot, you can just use the fan. I think this is a GREAT idea! And no, I don't wear shoes when I'm working cuz I work at home. And I usually don't wear socks either (except in the winter) and the cold goes right through 'em. After I checked out the prices of tilted footrests, I ordered this pronto! Can't wait to get it.

Don' worry, be hoppy.

Has anyone's shipped yet? Mine has not and I'm freezing to death here.

Just for future reference since I saw some posts concerning prongs, UTL, fire risk, building codes, etc, etc, etc.

I work in a highrise building where space heaters are prohibited due to fire risk (they'll confiscate it if they find one), but I bought one anyhow.

I sent the specs up to building management just to see if I could use it here (the worse they can tell me is no right?) and they APPROVED it for use in the building. This is the only space heater they have on their approved list.
