Bought two of these years ago to keep the employees' feet warm and they continue to work many years later. Heat level is not a lot, but enough. It will warm up a small office gradually over time. And yes, if you have stinky feet, it will nicely spread the smell throughout your office. Cleaning is relatively easy, they don't seem to clog up too much. Fans are kinda weak, but they do a decent job warming your feet. The angle of the heater is also ergonomically correct and seems to help those with lower back pain. I'd give 'em a 7.5 out of 10 for what they are.

You've obviously never worked in an old building with outdated heating. I have a heated floor mat that only heats up the floor - I'm really looking forward to having something that actually radiates heat up my legs - my lap blanket (honest!) doesn't cover my feet.

We have an older model - looks just like this one. It's large enough for two big feet and the knobs are hard plastic, to provide a good foot massage if you rub your feet over them... the heat is adjustable, and can keep the underside of your desk (and feet) nice and toasty. When we use it in our small
home office, it heats the whole room.

How loud is the fan? Is there an option to turn the fan off but still have heat?

I get PAINFUL cold feet despite exercise, wool socks and warm slippers. I'm very tempted, but I work at home in a quiet office, my computer doesn't even have a fan that runs constantly. Don't really like fan noise.

Too bad these aren't portable - would be great for those cold football games when all that gets cold are my feet from resting on cold concrete!!

How effective is this when used while driving? Put cruise control on and kick your feet up?

I bought one.
Hope my cat likes it

C'mon! Buy one! After all, you have to have some useless scaffolding if you ever hope to have a meaningful garage sale.

I was thinking about getting this...but now I'm getting cold feet!

Actually, perfect timing. The wife and at least one mother have cold feet, so "Hello Christmas!" Worst case, I have to take one myself for the office to keep the feet comfy. In for 3!!

I understand your rant but my wife has Raynaud's syndrome which effects the blood vessels in her toes to the point where she cannot generate her own heat. I'll be buying this for her.

I am tight on space and will be moving my office into the unfinished basement. Having this to put my feet on in stead of the cement floor will make it much nicer. One day I'll finish that basement... one day...

A solution looking for a problem...

Here's a hint for folks suggesting socks: You don't know what you're talking about and should just be quiet. You're trying to speak intelligently about conditions from which you don't suffer using physics you clearly don't understand. That's a recipe for fail.

"Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt" -Lincoln or Twain or some other person smarter than Wooters yelling "SOCKS!"

Or you could wear socks and keep it clean, duh.

Darn skippy these aren't going to sell in FL. Or at least in my current home in South Dade County (aka end of the line). High yesterday of 88. No thanks. Mebbe tomorrow.

My wife, who either runs or uses an elliptical machine for more than a hour every day, has cold feet and will love the one of these I am getting her. SO take your holier-than-thou attitude and stuff it in one of the many socks being advocated on this forum.

Ooh. Sounds like a great gift idea for my mom. She is always talking about cold feet and wool socks aren't a good mix with high heels at work (but what do I know - I'm a guy).

As a psychologist she spends lots o' time sitting so this should be a good gift... right?

Yeah she'll love it just as much as she loves the breadmaker you got her, or the vaccum for her birthday...lol

The GF has Raynaud's. This is relevant to my interests. I must consult with her before I pull the trigger.

Listen to me now, or hear me say "I told you so" later.

Actually, I'm in Florida and need one for my office ... The temperature there has to remain a nice, balmy 60something degrees for the network servers there!

I am CHEAP and keep the heat LOW....this will be an energy saver, allowing me to drop the thermostat another degree (or two). Even with warm socks and slippers, layers, and a blanket, my feet get cold. Now they will be toasty warm.

Got one for a co-worker, too. Her office is on an outside wall, and stays very cold. Hope she enjoys warm feet for Christmas!

I'm surprised this isn't "refurbished." Nothing like a stranger's hot foot odor on a chilly day. Now pass me my rented bowling shoes.

ACTUAL PRODUCT REVIEW HERE

This is ironic. We purchased one here for work and got the test unit in on Tuesday for double the price listed here. The unit was purchased to replace the 1600+ Watt space heaters people had hidden under their desks.

The shell is made of hardened plastic which seems to retain the heat rather well even after being shut off for a little while. The little fan is quiet and the heat generated by this little guy is substantial enough to warm the entire underside of my tester's desk. She is quite satisfied with it as a replacement for her heater.

Other bonuses are the fan only mode and the automatic shutoff. Now I don't have to worry about my space monkeys leaving fire hazards blazing overnight.

All in all a solid purchase, and its at half the price you find it for on Amazon.

Thank you. I also have Reynaud's, and when my feet get cold, the pain raidiates up into my legs. My family gets mad at me, because we always have a really low light bill in the summer, (the air is kept on around 79-80), and a really high light bill in the winter, because I am always cold. I have looked into investing in heated socks, but I don't know if I can afford the batteries, plus they are ugly! This is perfect!
