CommunityWootsVornado Soleaire Personal Foot Heat...

linrey

This is the absolutely greatest thing for anyone who is always sitting at a computer and is chilly! I have had one at work and one at home for about 9 years and love having toasty feet and legs. Wouldn't want to be without it. Mine has a "fan only" mode which is nice in summer.

I'm buying a spare.

If only you knew what it's like to have feet the HURT with the pain of cold. Socks don't do a darn thing for this condition.

Staying warm is EASY. It's called layers. Being chill when it's 95 outside... that's a different challenge.

If you honestly have cold feet problems, just buy thermal socks. They'll keep you very warm and are portable.

CASE CLOSED

And they probably cost as much as the foot warmer...

rachelwootswii

when it gets to -27 degrees F where you live...socks and slippers don't cut it right after coming in. Especially with concrete flooring. something like this would be nice as long as the heat can make it through two pairs of woolen socks and slippers....not sure if i should get it though...still deciding...looks like it wont sell out so i might have time to think it over...

It does have a fan to cool your feet if you would rather use that feature.

I will say my grandmother used to have one of these(or at least something very similar) when I was a child and I loved rolling my feet up and down it while warming them up.. I'm really considering getting one for my dorm now.. if only I weren't so broke I'd pick it up instantly.

Ok I'm really trying to figure this out. I don't hate it, I get cold feet and would like them to be warm. Just a little confused.

Electric foot warmer transfers heat directly from your feet and then upwards through your entire body

First off, it transfers heat directly from my feet? Shouldn't it transfer heat directly *to* my feet? Does it just radiate heat like a hot plate, or do those holes have some warm air moving through them?

Includes a fan function that allows you to stay cool and use the unit year-round

Wait wait wait--a heater... that allows me to keep cool?? That's the craziest f'in thing I've ever heard.

Needless profanity aside, I did also notice in the close-up pic that the item has an appearance similar to old/worn black plastic (the "whiteness"). So I wouldn't call the basic question a pointless post. Was that just a trick of the close-up flash or what?

I love the industrial black. Late Spanish Inquisition inspired design?

The 'whiteness' is actually a SAFE fiberglass impregnated plastic. It allows for better heat tolerances and adds strength. For example, look at the color of a fiberglass ladder.

YES. Thank you. Everyone saying "Just put on socks", I'm very happy for you that it's that easy to keep your feet warm. I, and others who would like this product, don't have that luxury. I have poor circulation which results in painfully cold feet almost any day in any season, no matter how many socks I put on. I'm of course working on the circulation problem but it's a long process. This would be a great help in the interim.

Still, not sure if I'll get it yet because it still works to soak my feet in a tub of warm water...but this would be way more convenient. Hmm...

And second.. well there isn't a second. It warms feet, what else is there to say?

I work in an office filled with people who get cold in any temperature below 90F. They seriously walk around in parkas all day and still complain about working in a refrigerator. (its 74F in our office) They claim that no amount of "thermal sox" or "layers" will alleviate their condition and go so far as to bring in notes from their doctors to demand that the thermostat get turned up in the whole office.

As many others have noted, it is easier to warm up than cool down. So if management gave in and set the office temp to 80 or 85, those of us with normal metabolisms would have suffered (since shorts aren't in the dress-code). So personal foot-heaters like this one came to the rescue. They successfully warm those with reptillian blood without needing to turn the entire office into a sauna. And when we ran the numbers, it ended up being more energy efficient as well.

why do socks, get a heater

Why is it at first glance I always say "I don't need it, waste of money" but end up making the purchase within 30 minutes? I somehow convince myself that an initially unnecessary product is somehow now necessary. Definitely there's some psychology involved.

tesla33 wrote:Nice post, 13yo with ADD. For you and those others who just can't understand what a foot warmer does, some of us - especially the ones old enough to avoid using "Our Movie Genre" and "LOL" - have poor circulation in our feet. I could heat my room to 75 degrees and still have freezing feet. This heater makes sense for those of us who need extra heat only on our feet and legs, and who can be trusted with things that plug into wall sockets. I think I'm in for two: one for home and one for work. Now isn't it past your bedtime...?

At least now when I refer to "pulling the plug" on grandma I can just say I was referring to her pointless foot warmer.

Thanks woot! Maybe in for one. Not sure if I love my grandma enough to spend 20 bucks though.

I guess Glen Beck was right about me.

Wool socks/slippers only work to hold your body heat in. If you are putting zero heat out then there is nothing to hold in even if you wrap them in down. I bought a cheap bag of rice, nuke it and my husband buries his feet in it. No it never makes it to the dinner table and can be used numerous times. This sounds much easier and lwss wierd.

I would think poor circulation and cold feet are from a lack of physical activity. Time to exercise and get the blood flowing. It's free =)
