CommunityWootsKarcher 1750 PSI Pressure Washer

bkwells

I took the plunge despite some of the negative comments. I figure for 80 bucks I can't go wrong. Need only light duty (cars/patios/etc) so if this lasts me more than year or more than 5 uses I get my money's worth over not having to rent one.

I had one of these for less than 3 hours before I returned it to Sams and bought a Honda gas powered one.

Like many have said, this is a POS. Do not waste your time on this. It is about as powerful as a garden hose nozzel.

these are still better than those Sistema ones sold before, right?

quote: (I don't know how to quote folks with that green box thing) Yes all pressure washers can have soap added to them. Yes they all have attachments. to get mildew off your house, i would suggest a gas powered 2500 PSI one, just be careful if your house is painted though because having it too close will take off the paint, but too far will just be a mist.

Edit: If you have a brick house it wont matter how close you are. and you might wanna use a 3000 PSI one to make your house look cleaner.

I say BAH! I have 2 pressure washers that DO NOT hold soap, and yes, if you get too close to a brick house you will blow the mortar out from between the bricks. Soapie, there's too much to learn to risk your house. Just hire it out. A bleach solution and a weak washer will do a fine job, but the questions you're asking scare me to death. Hire someone.

I would call it garbage, but that would be doing a disservice to the garbage ......

I bought one of these from HD awhile back. It broke the second time we used it. Took it back and exchanged it for another one and that one also broke. Gave up and bought a totally different brand. I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone.

I'll "ditto" the POS comments above.

I got one at Lowes a few years ago. It worked nicely (for an electric unit) for 5-6 months when used once a month. Then it hasn't worked since.

I paid $80 on sale. It was $79.99 too much.

Agreed, but to get the kind of torque needed to run a proper power washer pump the electric motor needed would end up costing a great deal more than it's gas 4 stroke counterpart.

Electrohacker wrote:I hate small gas engines

Can't relate to this, I'd have a 20cc 2 stroke gas tooth-brush if it weren't for the fact that the exhaust would leave an oily film on the bathroom mirror.

My family bought a Karcher power washer off of QVC years ago...Long before the dawn of Woot. Works well! I've had good experience with the company.

With my 2500 psi unit, I've never had a problem with taking off the paint as long as I use the #2 nozzle. (The #1 nozzle could probably be used for precision diamond cutting.)

In contrast, when I had my Karcher I sometimes had to use the finest spray setting to get enough power. And if I did get careless with the Karcher at the fine setting it would take the paint off the house.

Again, it's a matter of getting the right tool for the job. If your house (or deck) gets mildew and mold (as it probably will in a wet climate), the Karcher will be underpowered for the job. If you live in a dry climate, the Karcher will probably work ok for cleaning a house.

I have one. When it works, it's great. About 30% of the time it doesn't produce any pressure.

Buy at own risk...when it's working, it does a great job on motorcycles, trailer, driveway, block wall fence.

Someone's gonna tattle this...have to say you've got it coming, though.

Bought one of these off of woot and it broke after 3rd use. No help from karcher. I left it on the curb with a free sign on it. Cost me more in time than $$

robj92

To the people wanting to pressure wash brick; before you go buy a high pressure gasoline washer just remember to start out with low pressure and increase as needed. I,ve seen many cut the faces completly off the brick and then want to know how to fix it. IMPOSSIBLE!

robj92

Also the best brick cleaning solution is muratic acid. Diluted with water of course before applied with a garden sprayer then pressure washed. Just don't let acid solution dry before wahing.

what a funky thing woot selling on a day light saving day of 25 hours! Getting bored, seeing samething at my biological 1 o'clock on the east coast!

Darn daylight savings time (or darn Arizona). Now I have to wait until 11:00 instead of 10:00. Why the heck don't we in Arizona change our clocks?

I bought one of these locally and returned it the same day. If you think you are getting a pressure washer you are NOT.

It might as well be the nozzle on the end of the hose.

Do yourself a favor and either rent a gas powered, or spend the extra $100 to get a gas powered one.

Just my 2 cents

Soapie0 wrote:Okay, I trust you guys. But, at that price we could get both the china cabinet and the pressure washer. We've never bought one and my DH told me to research it and find the one we need. What do we need? I'm just looking for a pressure washer that kicks butt and blasts the "mildew" look off the house. I like that this one had soap. Do they all have soap? Do they all have attachments?

Any reccommendations for a clueless wife whose husband assumes she can find anything on the Internet. I can! I found you guys who are going to tell me what to look for and what to do - right, guys?

simple, rent one! You could likely rent one from a large store like Lowes or Home Depot, but I'm guessing lots of privately owned businesses, such as True Value franchises are just as good at showing you the ups and downs.

Then you get the china cabinet, the mildew off, and a Mojito!

Then I must have gotten a 'bad' one, with which I inadvertently ruined the wooden stairway to my outside deck when I tried cleaning it.

I didn't know what I was doing, used too much pressure, and totally destroyed the wood surface, deeply gouging it in irregular patterns.

Everything is relative. The pressure from this thing was obviously more than enough for my needs.

Piece of junk!!!!!! I got it delivered on Saturday (11/7). The item was just thrown in the box without any secure packaging whatsoever!!! I mean not one packing peanut or cardboard cutout. NOTHING and this frigging thing is heavy. I tried to use the item today and it wouldn't turn on for the first 15 minutes, when it did turn on the wand was all leaky and then the GD thing would't turn off! WOOT has some good shirts but stay away from anything else or you'll be searching for a service center.

Used mine yesterday for about 6 hours - worked great! No problems at all. Got all the dirt and grime off my back patio, sidewalk, and driveway. No issues at all.

Bullitt21

If you want a good electric pressure washer get a CamSpray, or get a better quality pressure washer. If you're in search of power get a high PSI gas powered one with a CAT pump. I really can't see why people would purchase a pressure washer that retails at $100 and expect it to last. You get what you pay for.

keepy1

I purchased my Karcher pressure washer on Nov 1 it didn't work when I got it on the 7th and I had to return it to woot at my expense $28.00.
Karcher will not warantee it at all.

imriver

mine came with assembly parts missing. plastic things that hold the wheels in and screws that hold the handle on. what to do????

eygarcia

Garbage - worked for 1/2 hour.
