I have one of these bad boys, had it for about three years now. I use it to pressure wash my concrete around the house and it seems to do a fine job. Lots of pressure.

There is a pretty good amount of reviews on Amazon, but they really aren't that great.
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=Karcher+1750+PSI+Pressure+Washer

I do a daily woot blog where I talk about the woot, link to CSEs, find reviews, etc. A few people have told me it's useful. Google "useful linkage" and there it is.

They work but if you really want to pressure wash, go to a good tool rental and rent a gas powered one.

The woot would be good for general household cleaning.

(Overall signature size was getting large. Recommended signature size is 5k.)

Used to work at a home power equipment repair shop. We sold these for 1 year and then stopped. Because every single one came back, we spent more time repairing them than doing anything else.

Be lucky if it works at all when you get it.

Bought 3 of these off of woot last year, not one of them still works.

Found reviews for a similar unit on Amazon...

One of those reviews mentions this model specifically and says it's no longer sold/supported in the US...

Electric pressure washers are, in general, a bad idea. We had one (different brand) and it just didn't get the job done. Broke down and got a gas one. You get more juice with gas. Plus, there's no electrocution concern (remote though it may be). And a gas engine will last longer than an electric motor.

Good deal for the (very) infrequent user, who only has small jobs, but IMO I'd spring for gas.

I bought one at Big Lots a few months ago. It's okay, not great. Only a 30 day warranty. The detergent tank is useless and doesn't stay attached to the main unit. It's not nearly as powerful as a gasoline version (no surprise) which limits is usability. My dirtblaster nozzle broke after only a couple days of use and it took several weeks to get a replacement (apparently support is centered out of Singapore).

Bottom line - it's a mediocre machine at a good price today.

I own this. See that clear plastic piece in the middle of the enlarged picture? That is for soap.

This is essentially a car wash wand on steroids, in that it will get your wheels clean without having to put much effort into it.

It won't take off the paint of your car, it didn't mine, or take much much else besides mud etc.

I really wanted it to take off paint from the concrete, usually an easy job for a pressure washer, but it didn't do that, so I wash my cars with it.

If I were you,I would pass on this one.

Besides me getting home late these past few nights....

Maybe we should be fair and not edit our first posts to include further information that others are posting?

Could I pressure wash my skin off?

Like, if I wanted to?

jflworld

I actually own this, was a gift about 2 years ago. It works pretty well for powerwashing my concrete patio but I'd suggest you go with something with more pressure if you want to get the job done quickly.

I'll never buy one of their products again. Karcher is spelled j-u-n-k

Okay, for Christmas we needed two things, but could only afford one - a china cabinet and a pressure washer. Our brick house is filthy looking (after only being 3 years old) and the white columns on the front porch look like they have algae or moss on them - the white columns are tinted green at the bottom and working their way up. I was excited because this was cheaper than what we were looking at - but you guys are saying this won't do a good job cleaning the ick and mildew and whatever else that stuff is off the outside of my house?

I really need one of these to clean my porch...but the reviews don't look so good. Anyone got a better suggestion for a good pressure washer?

No, It won't do that. I tried it on my hand actually to remove pitch from a pine tree last year, but it didn't work. My hand was okay too; skin intact. Don't use it clean out your eye boogers though.

I owned one...company repaced it twicefor breakdowns..its a poorly made device..you pay shipping for repairs...very exp...other name brands are better

costco sells a good gas model. You can rent em for like 50 bucks a day as well if you don;t want to spring for the costco one.

Okay, I trust you guys. But, at that price we could get both the china cabinet and the pressure washer. We've never bought one and my DH told me to research it and find the one we need. What do we need? I'm just looking for a pressure washer that kicks butt and blasts the "mildew" look off the house. I like that this one had soap. Do they all have soap? Do they all have attachments?

Any reccommendations for a clueless wife whose husband assumes she can find anything on the Internet. I can! I found you guys who are going to tell me what to look for and what to do - right, guys?

We bought a Karcher Pressure Washer similar to this one, if not the same one, a few years ago at Sam's. We tried using it for an afternoon, realized how terrible it was, and returned it immediately. It leaked oil the very first time we put oil in the thing. It was much easier just to pay a guy 75 bucks to pressure wash our driveway with a much better pressure washer.

See? I didn't even know you were supposed to put oil in it. Would some guy take pity on me and tell me what the heck I'm supposed to get to pressure wash my brick house and white columns and have it kick butt and last us?

I think its unfair to assume just because its electric it must suck, unfortunately no one company in the power equipment racket has made anything decent to this point. but the parts exist, so it is theoretically possible

I hate small gas engines

I don't think an electric power washer would require oil; they probably had a gas one.

Yes all pressure washers can have soap added to them. Yes they all have attachments. to get mildew off your house, i would suggest a gas powered 2500 PSI one, just be careful if your house is painted though because having it too close will take off the paint, but too far will just be a mist.

Edit: If you have a brick house it wont matter how close you are. and you might wanna use a 3000 PSI one to make your house look cleaner

nuangbob

This is okay if your desperate, it will last a little while if you are careful. But, I recommend anything thats powered by a Briggs and Stratton gas engine. They are VERY reliable and you can find a 2200psi Husky with B&S for about $150.
