Sometimes I'm very very thankful I can't drink anything that smells strongly of apples.

allergies? bad childhood memories?

that's a shame, cause real apple cider can be quite tasty. Our family makes a batch every year - pure apples (well, sometimes a little pear in the mix), no preservatives, no pasteurization. just squeezed and frozen. Sure, it's a slight health risk, but totally worth it.

this cheap swill from the grocery store though... ugh. they try to add spices to cover the preservative aftertaste, and only make it worse.

I'm not sure, I just know that anything that smells strongly of cooked apple makes me feel ill. I just avoid it. It's not that big of a deal. Leaves more for the people who enjoy it.

I wish our dentists did this

My kids only eat two or three pieces of their halloween candy anyway. Orc usually ends up taking the rest to work.

Fishcam is back in business!

Of course, it won't be exciting until the Betta fish is released from his container (he's temperature acclimating at the moment).

Meh. Kids weren't in the proper mood, and acted like children with the fish at their table. IE- instead of recording what their fish was doing, and designing an experiment to test a single aspect of their aggressive response, they were just doing anything to provoke a response (tapping the tank, putting pencils IN the tanks, waving all sorts of things around). So not as well as I'd hoped. However, I got them all adopted, except for the one I'm about to release in the tank.

It may be a good thing that you didn't teach my Anat and Phys class.

Maybe. They were distracted by the flashiness of the fish and having something to "play with"... I should have had them "take care" of them in the class for a week prior to the actual lab, so they could have gotten all the goofiness out first.

Back from lunch. In case anyone cares, there's a printable coupon (good through sunday) at the Boston Market website good for a $1 chicken dinner plate. Makes their overpriced (though admittedly tasty) food actually affordable.

hmm, something to put in the teachers wisdom book! Although I'll tell you, I don't think it would have phased some of my lab partners, our poor dissection cat, "Lucky".
