less pixel ghosting, supposedly.......even though that's impossible for an lcd...

It is technology that alters the incoming signal’s pixels and matches them to surrounding pixels providing a more natural picture.

No matter what, no matter when, uh...what?

Just got mine in the mail about 2 hours ago.

First impression:
Came with 2 instruction booklets and 2 remotes... never hurts to have a backup! Oh, and 0 batteries, so BYOB.

Second impression:
With this fast shipping, I didn't have time to switch my cable box in the bedroom to a HD one, so I can't really form an impression of the TV yet.

Got the TV few hours ago (I am in Houston). BUT the TV is DEFECTIVE.
TV turns itself ON on standby mode. I turn the TV off and after about 10 secs it turns itself ON automagically.
What do I do now WOOT?

Mine just showed up (11/3) in St. Louis, MO. Connected everything, and so far the picture is not very good. I need to mess with the settings. If the pic doesnt get better, I am sending back. (Very blotchy)

Just got mine here in Kansas City. Pretty disappointed with the way it was shipped. The black "frame" around the screen is really scuffed up from the packaging. The screen itself also has some nicks in it. Hopefully they will not be noticeable once I get it home and turn it on. We will see. . .

got mine today, 11/3 in lancaster pa, but the component connections don't work!, I plugged my xbox 360 into a different hdtv to make sure the problem wasn't with any of the setting on the xbox, but all the settings were right and the pic look great, but when I plugged everything into this tv there was sound but no picture. Any suggestions?

Just got the set and hooked it up, but woot sent me the wrong remote! Its a Phillips remote for a DVD player! Now what!

I love woot. But, Once again.... They leave the package on my front porch before I ever get a tracking number. WAY TO GO TEAM!

if anyone else has problems like mine, noted above, I recommend calling Philips support and being friendly, the guy I talked to said the tv was old enough it is outside the manufacturer's warranty but that they'd replace it anyway since it was just purchased, he said that once I emailed them a copy of my receipt they'd ship me a new one.

Go to the Philips website and get the revised firmware. That's an identified bug that has been squashed.

Got mine 11/3, set up and running in ~30 minutes. OTA reception better than my bottom of the barrel Akai, easy switch between sources, easy switch between picture formats, good selection of picture formats.

Picture good. Sound quality of analog output excellent.

One slight minus is that the S-video and composite jacks are not apparently separate internally. No VGA input. Only one antenna hookup; I won't be able to easily switch between the cable feed and the antenna.

Thank you Woot.

Just received and setup my new TV today. Even running it through a standard coaxial cable (no cable box), the picture and sound quality is above average. The picture quality when hooked up to my PS3 is superb.

So..

- Easy setup
- Pleased with picture/sound quality
- Overall good deal through Woot!

Got mine today. Packaging was perfect, unwrapped quickly, and was quite pleased with the cosmetic condition of the TV. Plugged it in and had it set up in under 30 minutes. Picture quality is decent in standard definition and superb in HD. Sound quality is great. This TV is for my bedroom, and it's the perfect size. Couldn't be happier with this purchase. A great TV for only $315...can't beat it.

Thanks for the help but apparently the component imputs are labled incorrectly on mine, if I simply plug the green into the blue and vice versa, I get a nice pretty picture. If anyone else is having issues getting their component connections to work give that a try.

Thanks for the response though!

Got mine today. Perfect timing for surgery recovery! Got it all set up, hooked it up to the X-Box with no problems and am happily playing Halo 3 on a TV screen big enough to actually see the bad guys. Thanks Woot! You've never let me down!

Got mine it has a high pitch whining sound when you power back on after sleep mode turns it off. Called philips, I have to take it to a service shop. SCREW YOU Woot!

I've been using this TV for about a week, or about as long as I've had it since it arrived from WOOT. Unfortunately, as of this morning, the unit won't turn on. Pressing either power button makes the power LED on the front light up for about two seconds, then it turns off. No amount of troubleshooting seems to help. I'm very dissapointed with this product, the first "refurbished" item off of WOOT that has completely crapped out. Not sure what to do at this point - should I contact WOOT or Philips? Any advice would be grand.

A follow-up to this experience:

I had to deliver the television to a Philips-approved repair center. They've had the set since before Thanksgiving, and I hadn't heard from them. Last night they tell me that they're waiting for a part (world-wide shortage, apparently), and that they'll call Philips next week if it doesn't arrive by then.

So.

I had the use of this HDTV for about six days before it crapped its pants. I'm currently 3 weeks into not having it at all, going on 4, maybe even 5 (realistically, 6 weeks is probably more likely).

I can't tell you what a disappointing experience this has been. I hope all the refurbished merchandise and their respective manufacturers that Woot deals with are not this problematic.
