Darn. I missed the Woot off. I thought this was part of the woot off. Duh.

It takes a big man to cry...and an even bigger man to laugh at that man.

Philips' tvs (in the USA) are now made by Funai. Funai is a company known for their cheap, low-end electronics.

Click on the photo on the main page and you can see a photo of the back of the television, and the various inputs. Or read the description - it may say in there somewhere, although I didn't check.

Congrats! I still need to make it to #2 purchase even though I bought two of the #1. Does that makes sense?

For anyone else who doesn't understand HD resolution, read this short article on CNET.

you will only see the difference in a 1080p of this size is when playing Blu-Ray DVD or high-end graphic intensive games

I've bought 2 Philips refurbs and both were bad and I got them direct from Philips website.

I truly feel bad for everyone that was taken advantage of on this woot. While it's true that woot screws people often, this is one of the worst that they've pulled.

Good luck, I don't think that there is any way to reutrn these to woot, is there?

The sets are worse than garbage and are probably refurbs of sets that were sent back and already refurbed.

This really disgusts me that woot can get away with screwing unknowing people like this. There should be a law that says that to sell something as refurb'ed, it should have to be told how many times the thing has been returned to be refurb'ed.

What's with all these stupid TV's lately?

And more importantly, why can't we get some 32-54 inch computer displays, with computer-display resolution?

Now that, i'd buy!

I really worry about the American consumer.

This TV is inferior in so many ways and is also a refurb.

For $25-$30 more you can purchase a brand new, highly rated and reviewed TV like a Panasonic or Toshiba.

It's their money I guess.

I am not paid to defend Woot, but I am compelled to share my experience with Woot's customer service. I've bought some things that were junk and had to be returned. EVERY TIME that's happened, the Woot guys have been courteous and helpful. Also, I purchased a 62" DLP HDTV about 4 years ago. The TV has been flawless and if I didn't know it was a refurb, it could not be detected.

Lastly, I'm sorry if you've had a bad experience in the past, at least in my case it's not typical. If you're just making assumptions from trolling the site, you could not be more wrong.

By the way, take notice that woot! intentionally doesn't sell all stock of a particular item.

Like, they sold 1500 units during today's woot!.

However, they had to have opened at least one to get the photographs for the main page. (Assuming they photograph their own items, which it always appears that they do)

It seems really unlikely that they would have gotten 1500 + 1 refurbished units.

Looks like someone (an indeterminate amount) will get these in the next Carp Bag.

I mean, either that, or they'll just put the remainder up during the next woot!-off.

Probably the latter.

Probably.

Also: I wonder what they do with the item they photograph? Sell it to employees at a steep discount? Toss it off the building? Build forts out of the boxes it came in?

I like to think they make the forts. That seems like a "woot!" thing to do.

150%? hmm...

Pass on this one. Not the true HD experience. 1366x768 is a scaled version of the true signal. Better off with 720p or 1080p that is 1200x720 or 1920x1080.

I agree. Every customer service experience I have had with Woot has been great. Even returning items has been relatively easy.

Plus, I don't see Woot employees out there holding a gun to people's heads to buy these things.

Do your research through google or bing or amazon or whatever, and if you want to buy it then buy it. If you think it is a bad deal, then don't buy it. Pretty simple, dontcha think?

1366x768 *is* 720p! There is no such thing as a TV with 1200x720 pixels. Oh, and the "standard" source resolution is 1280x720, not 1200.

Our Movie Genre, A morer true statement couldn't never have been said, like I wanted to buy me a new car, but I wanted the real true driving experience type thingy so I didn't buy the Hyundai and got me the real driver in a KIA!
