Next time you're at Walmart (or similar) but you a zillion sets of the cheap dominoes.
Show them how to make domino chains and set them loose. Every now and then, show them something new like having it go up & down a ramp.
PS: I loved making tents in my room. My entire room would be covered in blankets. They also made great houses for my Barbies. Boys may not be into that last part though.
PPS: Dominos are great for building tall towers too.
PPPS: Another thing I liked doing when I was young was taking foil (thinner is better) and making rubbings of different textures around the house. Coins, textured floors or walls, faces of dolls/figures, etc. Give them part of a dry sponge perhaps to help them do it without tearing the foil.
